Mosaic Youth Theatre

Indeed, music is a universal language, one that soothes and moves men, women and children of varying backgrounds all over the world. However, like anything else, there is a hierarchy. Let the masses relish their Spears and Mathers at the hands of a hired DJ spinning CDs at their backyard barbeques. The internationally-acclaimed Mosaic Singers of Detroit’s own Mosaic Youth Theatre offer a resplendent melodic showcase that speaks exclusively to discerning audiences such as you and yours—and delivers it right to your door (or any door you may choose, for that matter).

Refined tastes do not go to waste as the versatile choir of incredibly talented teenagers delights with beautiful renditions of classical works, Motown hits, Broadway tunes, traditional songs and famous jazz standards. And nothing compares to the resonance of having the singers poised and in perfect pitch live before you and your guests.

These highly sought-after professional young artists have performed at the White House, the Kennedy Center, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and in twenty states throughout the U.S. They have performed for dignitaries such as President Clinton and Rose Kennedy and have served as opening acts for such greats as Al Green, Aretha Franklin, the Temptations, Pete Seeger and Sweet Honey in the Rock. Certainly, Mosaic’s charming musical flair would well accompany your wedding, graduation, fundraiser or other private event, whether it calls for the intimacy of a polished quartet or the grandeur of a 60-member ensemble.

In addition to the vocal stylings of the singers, Mosaic offers a special dramatic performance highlighting an inimitable musical era that would forever change the face of popular music. A smash hit of the season in Detroit this summer and slated to tour nationally in 2006, Now That I Can Dance – Motown 1962, chronicles the early days of what would become the legendary Motown Records—and particularly the rise of the Marvelettes, five Detroit area teenagers who recorded the label’s first number 1 hit. Mosaic’s young artists, who are, in essence, the grandsons and granddaughters of Motown, interviewed many Motown legends to prepare for this original play, which received rave reviews from critics and Motown alumni alike.

Mosaic’s actors and singers have gone on to perform on Broadway as well as on stages in Toronto, Chicago and Los Angeles, and you have an opportunity to experience these dynamic talents exclusively. Make an impression and satisfy your sophisticated tastes simultaneously with an exquisite and truly memorable entertainment choice that separates the cookie cutter from the extraordinary.
