SeaBear Smokehouse
SeaBear, named after Native American legend, was born of Anacortes, Washington fisherman Tom Savidge and his wife Marie from a backyard smokehouse built in 1957. Today SeaBear markets a full line of seafood to customers in all 50 states, and remains dedicated to the same principles upon which Tom Savidge founded the company decades ago: Make great food people love, and always listen to our customers. We stand behind everything we do with our unconditional Fisherman's Oath guarantee.
The Gold Seal pouch, which preserves the salmon naturally, so no refrigeration is required was developed and patented by SeaBear. The pouch allows us to ship the freshest of fresh seafood to your doorstep.
The highly prized smoked Sockeye salmon has been the flagship of the SeaBear line since our founding. Our traditional alder smoked Sockeye is distinctive in its rich red color, robust flavor and succulent tender flakes. It offers the quintessential Northwest smoked salmon experience. And, since it's packed in our famous Gold Seal pouch, no refrigeration is necessary until opened.
SeaBear’s Alaskan Halibut fillets are a welcome centerpiece for any dinner. The largest flatfish in the sea, halibut are individually caught by hook and line along the continental shelf of the Pacific Northwest at icy cold depths of 900 feet or more. The result is a lean, light whitefish with sweet, delicate flavor, perfectly firm texture and pure snow-white flesh. Halibut will hold its shape and texture whether baked, broiled, grilled, poached or steamed, and its flavor works equally well with bold sauces or simple spritz of lemon.
Western Australia is widely recognized as the world's premier source for cold water lobsters. SeaBear has secured a direct source for lobsters of particularly spectacular quality. These wonderfully sweet, flavorful, bountiful tails are ready to steam, boil, broil or grill. Each tail weighs approximately 8-10 ounces.
The Alaskan Red King Crab is rich in large pieces of tender, sweet, succulent meat, unlike any other crab in the world. Caught by fishermen braving the dangerous far reaches of Alaska's North Pacific, and truly majestic in size (running approximately 12 lbs. or more, with a span of 5' or more), these creatures have earned their title as King of Alaska. After cooking, the crab has been flash-frozen to lock in the flavor for your enjoyment year round. Each 4 lb. orders averages 4-5 legs which are typically 1 ½ feet or longer in length!
Each October SeaBear holds a By Reservation Only event for its Alaskan Red King Crab. Fishermen journey to the far reaches of Alaska's North Pacific and the Bering Sea to seek this prized, elegant seafood treasure. Your crab will be caught, brought to shore, cooked fresh, and shipped overnight to you direct from Alaska. The result: tender, sweet, succulent meat, unlike any other crab in the world. SeaBear is now taking reservations for 2007. Please call us with any questions at 800.645.3474.
